COAX SURGE DIVERTER

The surge diverters have a low insertion loss and are connected inline with the coaxial cable and are used to protects the module from the impact of lightning or transients via the antenna port. We have two options to choose from and each have their pros and cons depending on the application and the frequency band it is operating in. The CSD-SMA-2500 is designed to be connected directly to the antenna port of the Radio, allowing simple installation or retrofit. It is used in conjunction with the CC3, CC10, CC20 SMA male to N-type male coaxial cable kits, and allows connection to ELPRO products with the SMA female/male antenna connector and it is available for use with all frequencies up to 2.5Ghz.

The CSD-N-6000 is an N-type connector bulkhead surge arrestor and available in two configurations, female to female (CSD-N-6000) and male to female (CSD-N-6000MF) and can operate at frequencies up to 6Ghz.

The CSD-N-6000 and CSD-N-6000MF are a bulkhead mount and designed to be installed through the cabinet box wall or directly on the cabinet antenna connector which can also provide a weather seal for the coaxial cable entry. They can also be used with the CC3/CC10/CC20 coaxial cables (N-type) however a CCTail cable must also be added to connect the arrestor to the radio with either an SMA female or BNC female antenna connector. Note: Surge protection devices rely on good earth grounding practices to be effective. These product assumes both a metallic enclosure and good ground connection to the enclosure or the attached ground cable has a good earth bond. If in doubt, apply another earth ground under the locknut to create a sufficient earth ground. In applications of high vibration, it is recommended to use the CSD-N-6000 surge diverter.
